The old RN patrol cruisers

I have reinstalled the game again recently and having fun with the 1915 campaign.

One tactic I always enjoyed using was to assemble all the old 25 knot scout cruisers - Patrol, Sentinel, Forward, Adventure, Fearless, etc, etc into 3 x 3-ship scout squadrons and go play tag with the German Bight light forces. This used to work okay - although the German DDs could scoot away if they wanted but with a recent update to v1.169 I find these cruisers really get their guns shot up badly. Even by DDs! I know these didn't have gun shields and I've heard this was a historical problem with them but I wonder if a recent patch went a bit too far as they get massacred by the Frauenlob class ship-for-ship. Was curious to know if the vulnerability of the guns on the scout cruisers is meant to be this bad.

Haha used to the exact same thing with the modern KLM light cruisers. Oh no channel fleet RUN!
